Stockist Spotlight: A Friendly Bread
| On October 15, 2020
Here at Neat Nick Preserves, we love to spread happiness, one jar at a time. And what better place to spread happiness than on a slice of freshly baked bread?

A Friendly Bread is a Baltimore-based business owned and operated by Lane Levine, who started baking bread in 2010 thanks to skills taught to him by his grandfather. Each week, you can visit their website to discover what incredibly delicious options they’re offering, from their Simple Country Loaf to their Challah to breads featuring Turmeric or Asiago and Roasted Garlic. You can also order delicious add-ons from local partners, including Charm School Chocolates, Apex Bee Company, Woot! Granola, and a selection of our very own handmade preserves!
Better yet? They operate as a self-described “milkman” for delicious bread, providing delivery options that range from directly to your doorstep to a local community pick-up location.
When we asked Lane for a couple of serving ideas, he suggested toasting a slice of bread in a swirl of heated olive oil, but only on one side – this gives you a golden brown, beautifully toasted, crispy side and a side that’s heated through but still soft and lovely and perfect for a spoonful of our Brown Sugar Apple Butter or Bourbon & Vanilla Bean Peach Jam.

Looking for a flavor explosion? Try a little Blueberry Ginger Jam on their Turmeric bread, sit back, and savor. Personally, we love a little Maple Cinnamon Blueberry Butter on a fresh slice of Country Loaf, or a bit of Raspberry Lemon Jam on a piece of Challah.

We’re grateful for A Friendly Bread, for partners ready and willing to go out of their way to champion other small businesses and our broader community, recognizing that we’re all in this together.
So please visit their site, treat yourself to some truly amazing fresh bread, maybe add a jar of jam, a bar of chocolate, a bag of granola, or some fresh honey, and enjoy!
