Serving Ideas

So many serving ideas, so little time!

Toast is only the beginning.

There are so many ways to use handmade, small batch Neat Nick Preserves, from spreading them on breads or pastries to integrating them into recipes.

Based on the flavor, you might want to stir a favorite into yogurt, use it to top ice cream, pancakes, or  waffles, spread it on a sandwich, top thumbprint cookies, or serve it with a cheese tray or charcuterie plate.

Here are a few more ideas to get you started!

And remember, product availability is based on season and location.

Apple Butter

Use in place of apple sauce with pork chops, stir into a Hot Toddy (via our partners at Manor Hill Tavern)

Apple Pie Jam

The perfect topping for pancakes or waffles

Figs & Honey and Whiskey, Figs & Honey

Spread on phyllo dough with slices of brie. Cut sides of dough into strips and braid over the top, then bake per dough instructions.

Grilled cheese – simply spread Figs & Honey on bread, top with cheese (our Jambassador Kerrie who shared this idea suggests white cheddar and mozzarella) and grill!

Spread a layer on pizza dough, cover with arugula, goat cheese, and prosciutto and bake for a delicious sweet and savory treat.

Serve dolloped on spread goat cheese on top of baguette slices or toasted bread (you can even cut the bread into shapes using a cookie cutter), top with a small curl of fresh chive

Hot Pepper Jellies (Hot Pepper, Mango, Peach, Pineapple)

Use as a glaze or a marinade for fish, ham, shrimp, spare ribs, tempeh, tofu, chicken, or beef.

Serve it with cream cheese or prosciutto and shaved parmesan on a crostini.

Spread it on chicken or turkey wraps or a ham biscuit for a flavorful zing.

Mix it in pan sauces or salad dressings or stir fries or even rice to add a Caribbean flair to any dish.

Use it as a topping on cheesecake or ice cream or spread in a crepe.

Perfect topping for chicken wings (via Jambassador Candace):
Soak wings in coconut milk, then bread them with a mixture of breadcrumbs and panko. Bake at 375ºF for 25 minutes, flipping after about 18 minutes to get them crispy on both sides. Prep the hot pepper jelly by heating it and spooning the heated mixture over each wing. Return the tray to the oven for 1-2 minutes. Remove them from the oven and let them cool (5 mins or so). Enjoy!

Maple Bourbon Pear Butter

An easy (and tasty!) way to spice up your oatmeal or yogurt

Vanilla Bean Pear Jam

Ice cream is tasty, but this jam makes it even better

Rosé

Excellent perfect topping for croissants, as a crostata glaze, or on a cheese or charcuterie plate

Strawberry Balsamic

Spread slices of grilled bread with ricotta cheese and a dollop of our Strawberry Balsamic for an inspired twist on bruschetta!

Use in salad dressings, as a sandwich spread, as a cheesecake topping, or served with cheese and crackers

Strawberries & Honey

Perfect to use as a hand-pie filling, on pancakes and waffles and cheesecakes, stirred into yogurt or oatmeal, spooned onto ice cream, baked into donut muffins or cupcakes, or mixed with seltzer into a delightfully refreshing spritzer
